Abstract

|
A 29-year-old right-handed man was brought to the emergency room by his relative, becauses of the sudden onset of loss of consciousness with generalized shaking.
He had experienced the same event 20 years previously. Thereafter he had not be treated for this problem. Hispersondality was obsessive and his intelligence was slightly below normal.
On examination we founded only visual field defect in confrontation test. Brain CT shows dystrophic calcification in the entire left cerebral hemishere with porencehalic cyst, 1t. cerebral hemishere.
Skin test for P.W was strong positive(120 ㎟), but CSF ELISA test bordeline. Visual field examination by perimetry showed rt. homonymous hemiamopsia. Abnormal evoked potential findings also detected, which was explained by lt. Cortical
dysfunction.
Waking and sleep EEG showed mixed slowig in left hemisphere.
